When creating a form and using a single selection/multiple selection component, you will need to assign a value to each submission option.
As you can see here, the Form has a single selection component:
And on the right hand side when editing this form field, we can see that each of the labels A, B and C have a value assigned against them:
The way this is set up at the moment, each of the values is marked as true. When people submit this form and select either A, B or C, this will be mapped back into the platform as 'True' which would make it challenging to determine what each contact actually selected.
If you want to easily identify which option each contact selected and map this back into the platform, you would need to mark each value as A, B or C:
Then whatever this field is mapped to, either A, b or C will appear against a contact for this field.
When using a multiple selection, contacts can select more than one field. In the values section in a multiple selection, there are also values which will appear if a component is not ticked by a contact when submitting a form:
If a contact doesn't tick a box in this instance, whichever field this is mapped to will have the word 'false' against them, as well as any values against the boxes that are checked. So if someone ticked A dna C in this instance, what would appear in the contact field against this contact, will be 'A, False, C, False'.
If you want to stop this happening and only have the values that are selected to appear against a contact field, you can click the 'advanced' drop down and tick the 'Do not send not checked options' box:
And this will mean that only the boxes that have been ticket, will appear in whichever field this is mapped to.
