When creating a form in Force24, you have the option to add a 'communication preference' component:
Adding this button gives people the option to subscribe/unsubscribe to emails, sms messages or a sub-preference if you use sub-preferences in your account. If you wanted to map this field to a contacts email status, it would look like this:
Then on the form if they check the box, they will be opted into emails, but if they leave it blank they will become unsubscribed from all marketing emails.
You will notice that when editing this field on the form, there are two buttons saying 'is required' and 'autocomplete'.
The 'Is required' button means that to submit the form, contacts must tick this box. If they do not, they will be presented with an error message of your choice:
The 'Autocomplete' button, means that for those who are already have an active email status in your Force24 account, this check box will automatically be ticked, meaning contacts have to actively untick the box to opt out:
If however, a contact is unsubscribed or not yet recognised as a contact in your Force24 account, then this tick box will not automatically be checked and the contacts must check the tick box to opt in.
