Data validation is a crucial step to ensure your email marketing campaigns are effective and reach the right audience, and making sure you're following deliverability best practices.


The data validation tool checks both the Force24 historical records of an email address and runs a series of thorough steps to maintain the highest data quality.


By enabling the Data Validation tool, you can evaluate the quality of your contact data and make more informed decisions for your communication strategies.


To use the App within a journey:

  • In your Force24 account, navigate to Journey manager.
  • Click the name of a journey to edit an existing journey. Or click new journey to create a new journey.
  • In right hand panel, drag and drop ‘Apps’ onto the journey builder grid.
  • You can then select the ‘Data validation app to begin using.

  • If you have never used the ‘Data Validation’ tools within the platform before, you will need to generate fields for the data to be added to. 
  • These field will populate once the contact has been through data validation:


Data Validation – Delivery Confidence

This is a % score to determine the likelihood of successful email delivery based on third-party data and algorithms.

Very High Risk: Delivery confidence ≤= 25%

High Risk: 26% - 50%

Medium Risk: 51% - 75%

Low Risk: 76% - 99%

Send: 100% - Confident on deliverability based on previous sending data. 


Data Validation – Result

Valid – Data indicates a delivery +/or engagement event associated with email address. You can and should send to these.

Neutral – indicates that there have been no hard bounces, delivery or engagement event associated with email address

Risky – email address is risky to send to, due to previous suspected hard bouncing.

Undeliverable - email address is undeliverable due to hard bounces, syntax, invalid domain, or an invalid recipient issue.

Typo – email address may have a typo e.g., @gmil.com instead of @gmail.com

  • Once you have added the data validation app, you can 'add to journey', connecting it to a source of data you would like to validate the data based on (start audience). And data can be segmented from this journey either using make decisions or automated marketing lists.
